🧿Horsey Health Bulletin🧿 Always check your horses eyes! UVEITIS is common but can progress very quickly, and I mean Quickly! Causing serious pain and swelling. If treatment is delayed this malady can lead to blindness, or even necessitate removal of the eye completely.😲 

The “-itis” part of “uveitis” means inflammation, so uveitis is a name for a group of diseases that cause inflammation of the eye. Generally an overreaction of the horse’s immune system, ERU can be caused by ocular injury, infection, exposure to a bacteria, virus, parasite or other irritant. If treated early, the remedy can often times be as simple as a regiment of antibiotic drops and/or an anti-inflammatory 😃
